Take Stock in Children helps break the cycle of poverty through college scholarships, caring volunteer mentors and hope for a better life. Comcast Free Internet Essentials Training
If your child receives free school lunch, you may qualify for internet essentials from Comcast for just $9.95 a month. A low cost computer is also available for $149.99+ tax. A free internet training will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 3:30 - 4:30 P.M. at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. Building 7, Room 7128. Building 7 is located between N.E. 6th and 7th street and 1st and 2nd Avenue. Training is open to the public. Space is limited so arrive early.

Career Exploration
A fun filled day for students, parents and mentors to explore the different career options available to their scholars.
FCAT Reading
Standardized testing to measure students reading skills. No mentoring will take place during this time (April 1st - 6th)
FCAT Reading Retake
Another chance will be provided for students in the 11th and 12th to practice on reading portion of the FCAT. No mentoring will take place during this time.
Spring Break
Time for students to rest their minds and have a little fun! No mentoring will take place during this time (March 14th- 18th)
FCAT Writing
FCAT workshop will be provided to equipt students with the skills needed to score well. No mentoring will take place during this time (March 1th- 4th).
